Dan Whitakers new album ‘One More Story Told‘ is out on Friday 13th August 2021 and is a collection of new old songs as in all songs rediscovered or reimagined for a new audience. One such song is ‘Please Tell My Baby‘ a song that was written almost 20 years ago. Then Dan was in a band called ‘Great Plain Gypsies‘ and was the principal songwriter and singer for the band at the time. It’s a song about two lovers who part ways without the ease and convenience of today’s modern technology. For one reason or another the lovers can’t be together and this song explores what happens when two souls can’t be together.

Third Way combine the best of synth pop and indie electronic music with an alternative spirituality in their sound. Their music is highly addictive, danceable and has mega melodramatic outpouring of emotion in their songs. They have been gigging for about a year at open mic evenings amongst the people and communicating their emotions and making the audience feel each and every track.

In this podcast host CloudwatcherUno sits down with Paul and Xander. Paul handles the synth and Xander handles all the vocals, combined they make dance floor heaven. They have played at The Finsbury in February 2020 (practically a club night), Cafe 1001 and Northcote records before the pandemic stopped them in their tracks. Everyone the musicians and the fans get to benefit on an atomic level from the sounds that emanate from the band.
In this podcast we get to hear two tracks, an acoustic version of their enormous hit ‘Guru’ and studio version of Tides. In 2020 they haven’t been able to be in the same physical space so they have concentrated on producing and evolving their music. ‘Tides’ was released just as the first lockdown came into force so they could only communicate remotely.

There’s a possibility of releasing a fun track called ‘Baby Jesus’ which was composed in a light hearted way but according to friends of the band is the best thing they have have ever produced. There is an originality and honesty to their music. Paul and Xander have been together for the last 7 years and as partners in music their relationship has blossomed. Having played together in previous bands such as ‘The Next De Niro,

Music is a fabulous outlet for these two musicians and helps them to connect on a metaphysical level with themselves and making the best of an isolating situation where luckily they can make music from their home studio. There is a lot of positives on being able to concentrate just on their music and the result will be a release in the form of a new EP later in the year. Watch this space!

Joshua tells the story behind ‘Fondly’ which was the first song he ever wrote. It was important for Joshua to have this song on his first album. The song was inspired by his love for his grandfather and the loss that he felt when he passed away. Without his grandfather teaching Joshua in his workshop and the many instruments that he could pick up as young boy we wouldn’t have the magic of the albums that we have now.

William Poyer is as unique as his music. An outstanding lyricist whose words come to life with a passion and haunting elegance that goes beyond poetry into the sublime spoken word of fellow artists Ray LaMontagne and Jason Isbell.
In this podcast CloudwatcherUno sits down with William and discuss his adventures in Mexico City, taking the brave step of moving across the world to find himself and learning to focus on his music and meeting fellow musical souls such as Jairus McDonald and José (Tato) Grageda from the band Peregrino. Isabella Mariee and Lewis Fowler are Two Ways Home
Isabella (Isi) and Lewis. Johnny and June. Sonny and Cher. The world of music is full of couples who make beautiful music together. Two Ways Home are the latest in a long line of singer songwriters who came together because of their shared passion for music and then from equal parts combined to become one of the leading UK folk rock country duo’s.
In this podcast we talk about how they first met, their love for playing and singing music from a young age and how they developed their skills with piano, mandolin and guitar. Taking these skills they have travelled far and wide and produced a sound that captures classic country harmonies with a folk rock twist.
We get to hear exclusive recordings of ‘Broken Hearts Club’ and ‘Break The Silence’ from their album ‘Break The Silence’ released in February 2020. In these pandemic times life is not without it’s difficulties for musicians but Two Ways Home have found ways around the obstacles ahead of them. They regularly host their virtual Tuesday Coffee Mornings and Saturday Afternoon ‘Beer Time’ shows. Lewis has also started a new venture with two other musicians ‘Remote Sound Production’ to offer production facilities for artists who don’t have the facilities to produce their songs by themselves.

Tareq. Remember his name it’s going to be all over the cosmos. A true musical genius. His latest album “Prints” was released on 18th July 2020 and it showcases Tareq’s unique musical gifts, sounds and production. A masterpiece of harmonies, orchestral notes, collaborations and birdsong. All conceived in the mind of an artist who has produced the most mature, emotional, raw and honest album in his career.
In this podcast we talk about producing an album from demos to the finished article in lockdown and how artists such as Tareq have had to adapt to this new reality and have come out the other side by producing music that is genuinely thrilling and hooks it’s audience with it’s beats and bass lines.
We get to hear the title single ‘Upside Down’ and his last single ‘One’ ~ remixed by Silverhook. Tareq talks about how the ideas for this song and others that have been built on the foundation of lyrics that are metaphors for the human condition. I was lucky enough to listen to the album before general release and I quickly became obsessed with all the tracks. From the opening ‘Vertigo’s Effect’ which is a true cinematic soundtrack and feels like the marriage of ‘Blade Runner’ and ‘Escape From New York’ through to his collaborations with artists such as Sarah P on Cross Bones, Natasha Bofiliou on ‘Lift Me Up’ and Sam Rag Da on ‘Five More Minutes’ this is an artist at the top of his game and producing music that is equal parts lightness and darkness.

The album strives for a balance between sadness and happiness in each track. There are many tracks that are my favourite on this album. One especially is ‘OK’ with lines such as ‘How could I forget your face when you have so many?’ The craft of songwriting is alive and well in this digital age.

Four tracks on the album were written during lockdown and Tareq produced all of it within a month. The result is a an album that you will be playing over and over again. Hypnotic songs like ‘Road To Somewhere’ and ‘No Time Land’ and will have permeated your consciousness and you’ll need to hear to get another fix of those vibrant melodies and haunting lyrics.

Audriix is a musical whirlwind, an extrordinary combination of raw talent honed to perfection to produce pop music with an edge and hypnotic melodies. One of the key influences in Ned’s journey in music has to be friend and producer Luther Russell who brought Ned over to Los Angeles to record his first two albums. Having that support was instrumental in shaping Ned’s music. Bob Dylan has also had a major impact in shaping Ned’s music and its important to recognise how on a cellular level we absorb the way certain artists and albums have lived their music and their lives through the songs they have brought to life.

Sara Douga is The Pistol and The Pistol is Sara Douga. A phenomenal country artist from Southwest Louisiana who moved to Nashville but hasn’t lost her Cajun roots. An artist ready to show the music capitol that this country artist has the blues running through her veins and delivers lyrics with a stunning voice and unique sound. Whispering Bob Harris, legendary country BBC radio host said “Her music defines 3 chords and the truth”.
Collaborating with country heroes such as Jim Lauderdale and Lane Mack has opened up new experiences for Sara with other legendary singers and songwriters. In this podcast Sara sings the acoustic versions of two songs, the first is ‘I’ll Forgive You If You Don’t’ and and an exclusive first performance anywhere of Sara’s collaboration with Jay Knowles of an unreleased song.

That collaboration with Jim Lauderdale also led to Sara performing on stage at The Grand Ole Opry. Next time she’ll be performing not as a guest but as a star in her own right. We talk about her passion for singing and songwriting from the age of 8 and how in high school Sara had already written all the songs for her debut album ‘Boots, Bras and Drawers’.
Before that was released Sara spent time playing with the lead singer from the Cajun Band ‘High Performance’. And it was while playing with Jamie Beard at a private event that she met the love of her life.
Fast forward years later and the whole family have moved to Nashville providing the support and love that lets Sara focus on her music, and this has led her to perform at The Bluebird Cafe.

On 26th June 2020 Sara releases her brand new 3 track EP ‘Lines’ with ‘Fair Warning’, Playbook and Lines. For Sara her next goal is to be signed to a bigger label and publishing deals so that she can share her songs with a wider audience.
